Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!

 

I am Mrs. Jennifer Paredes, proud principal at Van Wig Elementary, home of the Wildcats. This will be my second year as principal at Van Wig and I am excited for the new school year!

Van Wig Elementary staff are dedicated to cultivating the love of learning in our students and create balanced academic and social emotional opportunities to aide them in reaching their full potential and help them become life-long learners. We support the academic and social emotional needs of our scholars by providing interventions during the school day to ensure all students meet their goals. We focus on providing a safe and welcoming learning environment, working with families to increase daily attendance, and providing engaging and rigorous learning in each and every classroom that will prepare our students for middle school and beyond.

We are a No Excuses University school. At Van Wig, we believe in educating the whole child and focus on Social Emotional Learning  and promoting a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS).
