Principal's Message
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!
I am Mrs. Paredes, the new principal at Van Wig Elementary, home of the Wildcats. I have been a teacher for 26 years, all here in the Bassett School District, with the last 3 years as a 4th grade teacher here at Van Wig.
Van Wig Elementary staff are dedicated to cultivating the love of learning in our students and create balanced academic and social emotional opportunities to aide them in reaching their full potential and help them become life-long learners.
We are a No Excuses University school. We believe in educating the whole child and focus on Social Emotional Learning in the classroom and promoting a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS).
